Campaigning

Shelter wants long-term solutions to homelessness and bad housing. That's why, as well as providing practical help and advice, we fight for more investment and better laws and policies.

Below is a summary of our work. Read more about what we believe, and how you can get involved.

Political campaigning

Shelter tirelessly lobbies government to implement laws and policies that will improve the lot of people in housing need.

Public campaigning

High-profile Shelter campaigns bring aspects of bad housing and homelessness to the attention of the public. Changing and informing public opinion is a vital part of our work. You can help us by getting involved and becoming a Shelter campaigner.

Regional campaigning in England

Shelter also targets regional bodies, such as regional assemblies and regional housing boards, to get them to tackle homelessness and bad housing in each region.
