FareShare
M&S chose Shelter and FareShare to benefit from their charity Christmas card sales in 2010.
20% of the purchase price of each pack sold by M&S from September to December was divided equally between FareShare and Shelter.*
What does FareShare do?
FareShare is a national UK charity which aims to prevent and relieve food poverty and waste. It does this in three ways:
- redistribution (providing leftover quality food from the food and drink industry to organisations working with people in need)
- education and training on safe food preparation and nutrition
- promoting the message that food shouldn’t be wasted.
How we work together
FareShare’s food projects and Shelter’s advice services are at the heart of what we do, and by working together we want to reach even more people who may be in need of these kinds of support.
FareShare provide bespoke nutrition-focused training sessions and materials to Shelter staff and clients. We both actively let our clients know about each others’ services.
The funds raised by M&S for FareShare and Shelter will make a huge difference to our work. A huge thank you to M&S for their support!
* If purchased in The Republic of Ireland 20% of the purchase price will be donated to Focus Ireland.
