M&S
Since 2005, our partnership with M&S has raised more than £4.5 million for Shelter’s free helpline, which provides housing advice all year round.
In 2011 alone, the helpline helped over 56,000 people suffering the devastating effects of homelessness and bad housing.
M&S at Christmas
In November and December 2011, M&S donated 5p to Shelter for every product purchased from their ‘Food on the Move’ Christmas range. All items in the range carried Shelter branding to make them easily recognisable.*
Shelter has also benefitted from sales of M&S’s charity Christmas cards, with 20% of the sale price of each pack sold being divided equally between Macmillan Cancer Support and Shelter.
All year round
Our partnership with M&S is incorporated in their Plan A pledge. Through Plan A, M&S is working with its customers and suppliers to combat climate change, reduce waste, use sustainable raw materials, trade ethically and help customers to lead healthier lifestyles.
Throughout the year, M&S donates end-of-line and excess stock to our network of shops around the country. These invaluable gifts mean M&S has a great way of ensuring their products don’t end up in landfill and Shelter has a much-needed source of income.
A huge thank you to M&S and their customers for their continued support!
* Sales in Northern Ireland go to Housing Rights Service, and sales in the Republic of Ireland go to Focus Ireland.
