World leader in support services and construction Interserve started a two-year employee fundraising partnership with Shelter in 2008.

Interserve felt that Shelter’s aims were a good fit with their own community-based business activities. The partnership was also an excellent way of uniting company employees based in many locations and in different parts of the organisation.

This highly successful partnership met its target each year, raising £80,000 for Shelter throughout 2008 and 2009. Interserve and Shelter combined a range of innovative and exciting ideas for a wide range of employees, including:

Interserve 
  • Sponsored sleep-outs
  • Ghoulish ghost walks
  • A football tournament (pictured)
  • Three peaks challenge 
  • Golf days
  • Participation in the Great North Run and London Triathlon.

Amanda Cardall, Interserve’s Corporate Marketing Manager, said:

‘Our partnership with Shelter enabled us to ignite the imagination of our staff to get involved in a variety of fundraising activities. With a diverse range of staff and geographical locations we needed to find a cause that all staff could relate to.

'Staff also benefited from increasing their awareness of the work of Shelter and worked hard to raise such a great target.’
