Rockwool

RockwoolRockwool and Shelter are working in partnership to raise funds for people in housing need.

In 2011 Rockwool is supporting Architect in the House, the fundraising initiative run by Shelter and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) which sees homeowners sign up for a design consultation for their home and get advice from a local, RIBA chartered architect.

As the UK's leading supplier of stone wool insulation materials for thermal, fire and acoustic protection, one of Rockwool’s key objectives is to create warm, energy efficient environments that are cheap to heat to help improve quality of life and housing conditions for millions of people worldwide.

Paula Bateman, Rockwool’s Corporate Affairs Director said: ‘We are passionate about supporting Shelter in its work to improve the living conditions of vulnerable people.

'Our company is always concerned with the way it interacts with the local and global environment. We understand that our local actions have a global impact and are committed to a socially, environmentally and economically responsible approach to our business.’

Kate Pollard, Shelter’s Head of Corporate Fundraising, said: ‘We are delighted that Rockwool is supporting Architect in the House and helping Shelter to tackle the scourge of bad housing that blights the country. Everyone should have a decent, safe and secure environment in which to live.

'More than one million people a year come to Shelter for advice and support, and our partnership with Rockwool will ensure we can continue to help these people in housing need.’
