In 2009, actor Jaime Winstone modelled Shelter’s achingly cool John Peel festival T-shirt, which sold in their thousands at Glastonbury. Jaime has also starred in a poignant short film for Shelter that helps draw attention to the UK’s desperate lack of affordable housing.
Andi Osho
Comedian and Actress
A long time supporter of Shelter, writer and comedian Andi Osho called upon her pals from The Comedy School, including Felix Dexter and Judith Jacob, to take on the dizzy heights of Vertical Rush in 2010. She also hosted the tower-running event reception, giving support and praise to participants, and providing some well deserved giggles all round.
George Clarke
Architect & TV presenter
Architect and TV presenter George Clarke is a big supporter of Shelter, especially our Architect in the House fundraiser. He also supported our Now is the Time campaign, and even powered his way up all 920 stairs of the City of London’s tallest building in aid of Shelter’s Vertical Rush tower-running event.
Michael McIntyre

Britain’s Got Talent judge and funny man Michael McIntyre rounded up fellow comedians Alan Carr, Jason Manford, James Corden, Sean Lock, Dara O Briain, Jack Whitehall, Lee Mack, Andi Osho, Kevin Bridges and Rob Brydon to put on a special charity Christmas show for Shelter. The night was a side-splitting success and raised almost £100,000.
Dawn Porter

TV presenter and journalist Dawn is a keen supporter of Shelter and a serious foodie, so it was a perfect fit for her to be the face of Cake Time, our sweetest fundraiser, in 2011. Dawn says: ‘Shelter’s work is vital in helping people who don’t have a decent and safe place to live, and there is no easier way to show support than having a Cake Time party.’

TV presenter In 2010, Celebrity Masterchef winner Jayne Middlemiss shared her Christmas secrets to support Shelter’s longstanding charity partnership with M&S by offering inspiring and time-saving festive tips. Jayne has also donated her delicious Chocolate Banana Cake recipe for our tasty fundraiser Cake Time.

As well as donating a devilish Chocolate Brownie recipe for Cake Time, TV presenter and property expert Sarah Beeny is the face of Architect in the House, Shelter’s innovative fundraising scheme in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects.
VV Brown

V V Brown has put her many creative talents to good use for Shelter. As well as creating a unique piece of art with friend and fellow Shelter supporter David Allain for our 52 Weeks exhibition, V V gave her very own tasty Shortbread recipe to inspire fellow bakers for our scrumptious Cake Time fundraiser.
Marcus Patrick

In 2011, reality TV star Marcus Patrick put on his running shoes to take on the dizzy heights of London’s Tower 42 for Vertical Rush, our adrenaline-packed fundraiser.
Marcus said: ‘I’m delighted so many people joined me to scale the steps and help raise vital funds for the work Shelter does with thousands of people in housing need.’
Frank Quitely
Comic book artist
The king of comic books Frank Quitely adapted his famous Superman illustrations to create a unique piece for Shelter’s 52 Weeks exhibition. His Vitruvian Superman was in good company with Vic Reeves’ Hobbit, Sir Peter Blake’s Marilyn Monroe and Grayson Perry’s ceramic home.
Sean Locke
Actor
Funny man Sean Lock lent his support to our campaign for better protection of tenants in 2011. He stars as an unscrupulous landlord showing prospective tenants around his ghastly property, alongside Green Wing’s Chris Oliver and The Mighty Boosh’s Mike Fielding, in our hit film Sean Lock: Rogue Landlord.

Health club entrepreneur and ‘dragon’ Duncan Bannatyne swapped his suit for a Shelter t-shirt and running shoes to take on our towering challenge Vertical Rush in 2009 &ndash helping to raise more than £165,000.

Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden just loves getting his trainers on for Shelter! He’s helped promote our football-themed World Cup fundraiser Strip4Shelter, clocked an impressive time in our Vertical Rush stair-running event, and raised money, and support, for our important work by running the London Marathon.

Sports TV presenter Natalie Pinkham generates loads of online buzz for Shelter campaigns via regular mentions on Twitter. Here she is looking radiant in Chelsea blue to promote Strip4Shelter, a fundraising initiative which asked soccer fans to wear their favourite football strip for a day, in return for a donation.
Frank Skinner

Comedian Frank Skinner was only too happy for an excuse to be photographed in the colours of his beloved West Brom – for a great cause, of course. Frank was a vocal supporter of our football fundraiser Strip4Shelter, which kicked off during the World Cup in summer 2010.

Coronation Street star Samia Smith is a longstanding Shelter supporter. In 2006 she signed our Wall of Shame installation, which gathered thousands of signatures calling for government investment in housing. Samia was also the face of our Walk for Home event, and helped promote our partnership with Marks & Spencer.

Veteran newsreader Jon Snow has been a champion of Shelter since his student days. Jon sat down in our special Red Chair to show that he wouldn’t stand for bad housing, kindly provided the voiceover for a Shelter film and, most recently, urged supporters to get behind our latest campaigns in Shelter’s newsletter.
