Demoted tenancies

This content applies to England

This page looks at private registered provider of social housing (PRPSH), formerly known as registered social landlord (RSL), demoted tenancies.

The Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 introduced a power for PRPSHs in England to apply to demote a tenancy if the PRPSH believes that the tenant, another resident in the property or a visitor is guilty of antisocial behaviour.[1]

For further information about the demoted tenancy regime see the page on Demoted tenancies in the Security of Tenure section. For further information about the policies and procedures of PRPSHs for dealing with antisocial behaviour, please see the page on Antisocial behaviour.
