Edward strikes a chord with the judges

Air guitar winner

Festival-goer Edward Drummond’s raucous riffs have won over the judges in Shelter’s first ever air guitar contest. Held at Glastonbury in the John Peel Field, the contest was broadcast onto big screens to hoards of screaming fans.

After weeks of intense deliberation, the panel decided that Edward (pictured) had a certain rock god quality that stood out from the crowd. He is the lucky winner of a fender guitar, signed by artists who support Shelter including Billy Bragg and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.

Shelter was the official partner of the John Peel Field this year – a testimony to the DJ’s tireless support of the charity throughout his life. The air guitar contest was part of a programme of activities that attracted hundreds of festival-goers to sign up to our campaign for more affordable homes.
