Members of the Youth Panel and Tranmere Rovers players

Tranmere Rovers FC have pledged their support for Shelter’s Now is the Time campaign. Members of Shelter’s Youth Panel, a group of young people whose lives have been touched by homelessness, met with players to sign them up.

Youth Panel members Matty, Mike M, Mike K and Alan visited Prenton Park to meet with club players Ben Chorley, Andy Taylor and Danny Holmes. They also gave interviews to Radio Merseyside, and local radio stations Buzz FM and Seven Waves Radio, about their housing experiences.

The interviews were a valuable opportunity to tell the world the real stories behind the Now is the Time campaign for more affordable homes.

Shelter’s Education Officer Phil Nettle said; ' It was great that Tranmere Rovers got behind us. They sorted this out at short notice and we'll get more coverage via their match programme.

‘I think the day stirred the young peoples' imaginations and made them feel that people were sitting up and taking notice.'
