Darren Campbell

Top athlete Darren Campbell is offering essential tips to Shelter runners taking part in this year's Flora London Marathon.

Olympic medallist Darren hopes his tips will help to persuade anyone taking part in the 2008 marathon, who has not yet chosen a charity, to run for Shelter.

'It's fantastic that we have the backing of Darren Campbell,' said Alan Gosschalk, Shelter's Director of Fundraising. 'As a successful athlete with first-hand experience on how to prepare for important races, Darren's tips will go a long way in helping Shelter runners prepare for the big day.'

Last year Shelter runners raised more than £500,000, helping to give thousands of homeless and badly housed families the chance of a brighter future.

If you have your own place in the 2008 Flora London Marathon and would like to raise money for Shelter there's still time: you'll get training tips, a running vest, free cheering t-shirts for your supporters and a post race reception. Get in touch with our events team now by emailing marathon@shelter.org.uk

For the fourth successive year, Shelter's running team is sponsored by The Vodafone UK Foundation.
