Shelter survives Glasto heat

29 June 2010

Pyramid stage Glastonbury

Our volunteers at Glastonbury did a fantastic job promoting Shelter’s work with homeless and badly housed people over the weekend.

Almost 3,000 revellers were stamped by our festival volunteers to show their support for Shelter. We also gave advice to people with housing issues from our stand in the John Peel field. Everyone we spoke to was directed to a Shelter service for further help.

A lot of people visited the John Peel stage to tell us how important our services are to them, so thanks to those of you who came by!

And a big thank you to the people who worked so hard in the heat (and probably had a bit of fun too): Tom Youll, Charlotte Brown, Claire Hawke, Helen Cleaver, Jacqui Barton, Katherine Piper, Kirsty Noakes, Barbie Markey and Malcolm Benzie.
