Designer wedding dress

Looking for a unique wedding dress that’s as ethical as it’s stylish?  A prize-winning wedding dress - made from a pair of winter white curtains bought in a Shelter shop – is being auctioned in aid of Shelter.

The Harrogate-based Brides International team created the fantastic wedding dress for the Yorkshire bride’s designer of the year awards, where they narrowly missed the winning title in the eco-recycling category.

Designer wedding dressIn true ethical spirit, designers Paula French, and Jane Hardman Ferris, designer of the year 2007 and 2008, have decided to auction off the dress for sealed bids with all proceeds to be donated back to the Shelter shop in Harrogate.

The dress can currently be viewed at the Brides International shop in Harrogate.

It will then be displayed in the lobby of the Great Yorkshire Showground, during the Yorkshire Bridal show on 4th and 5th of October. The BBC’s celebrity stylist, Bradley Taylor, will then announce the winning bid on the second day.

“This is a truly wonderful way to buy a beautifully designed dress for your special day, whilst supporting a very worthy cause,” said Kim Mays, Shelter Harrogate shop manager

“What better way to support our local Shelter shop by bidding for a beautiful bridal piece that will certainly have people talking.

“It would be fantastic to have the support of our local Harrogate community, so please make your bids and come join us at the bridal show, support Shelter and hear the winning bid.”
