Shelter’s partnership with KPMG is a great example of the variety of ways in which we work with our corporates.
Our joint policy report, ‘Building the homes we need’, outlined a blueprint for the next government to solve the housing shortage – and is now a key reference text on the housing crisis.
Many of our recommendations were included in the manifestos of all major political parties in the run-up to the 2015 election. KPMG positioned itself as an organisation that had a workable solution for one of the biggest issues limiting UK economic growth – housing.
As well as helping us achieve some of our key policy objectives, KPMG staff raised more than £600,000 over two years – and provided pro bono support for our retail, finance and HR divisions.
Our partnership with KPMG won various awards, including:
- Best pro bono work for a charitable, social or ethical cause at the 2014 Corporate Engagement Awards
- Responsible Business of the Year at the 2013 Business in the Community Awards
- Highly commended: Corporate National Partnership Champion at the 2014 Charity Times Awards.
