The impact of housing problems on mental health

The report identifies the progress made over the past 10 years (since the creation of the Rough Sleepers Unit), as well as highlighting the outstanding gaps in the safety net. This publication uncovers the need for better homelessness prevention measures, the barriers people face in accessing hostel spaces, and the problems street homeless people have in getting support for a range of complex needs. Most importantly, the report underlines the serious lack of move-on accommodation, particularly for those with mental health problems or drug/alcohol dependencies, and makes key recommendations to the Government based on its findings.
