The Mental Capacity Act 2005 provides a legal framework to support people with limited or deteriorating capacity to make their own decisions, or to ensure decisions are made in their best interests. The Mental Health Act 2007 amends current legislation. There are a number of areas where there will be crossover between the Acts.
Seminar objectives
Delegates will develop an understanding of the protection afforded to vulnerable adults and explore the implications of the first major change to mental health legislation for a quarter of a century.
