Rates and discounts
We offer a number of rates and discounts on Shelter Training courses, as well as special offers. Read this section to see which rates apply to your organisation, and to find out how you can get money off course costs.
Discounts on our new public courses
We have changed our Foundation in Housing Law and Advice: Part B course to four one-day courses. Book a place on all four of these public courses and receive a 15% discount off the total.

Multiple booking discount
If three or more delegates are booked onto the same training course a 10% discount will be applied automatically. However if you are making three or more bookings over multiple courses please click here for a separate booking form.
VAT
All our courses and seminars are VAT-free for concessionary and standard rate customers.
Commercial rate
This applies to all commercial organisations including barristers and solicitors in private practice.
Standard rate
This applies to:
- housing associations and other RSLs;
- statutory organisations, including HM Prisons, academic institutions and health services;
Concessionary rate
This applies to:
- small voluntary-sector projects/organisations;
- registered charities with fewer than 10 employed staff;
- CLS advice and law centres;
- local authorities
- Charities.
We are also able to offer a limited number of low-cost places to individuals who are students or unemployed, and organisations with very limited training budgets.
Terms and conditions
- VAT is charged at the standard rate of 20% for commercial organisations only, and is included in the course price.
