Rates and discounts
We offer a number of rates and discounts on Shelter Training courses, as well as special offers. Read this section to see which rates apply to your organisation, and to find out how you can get money off course costs.
'Foundation in Housing Law and Advice' course discounts
At Shelter venues
Book a place on Shelter's essential 'Foundation in Housing Law and Advice: 'Part A' and 'Part B' courses at one of our city centre venues and get £150 off!
In order to receive the discount you must book online, book before 30 September 2010 and quote AB10 in the promotional code box on both online bookings. The same delegate may attend both courses or two colleagues may share the offer.

Local authority discount rates
From January 2010, local authorities pay a new, lower rate. Our open-access courses are now available from only £150 per delegate. That's £50 less than in 2009! To get this discount, just remember to choose 'Concessionary rate' when you book a course.
In-house training discounts
Book six or more staff on Shelter's 'Foundation in Housing Law and Advice: Part A' and 'Part B' at a time and location of your choice and get £350 off!

Book in-house training
Early booking discount
Book at least three months in advance of the course start date for any course being held at our training venues in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and York, and receive 10% off your course fee.
Multiple booking discount
If three or more delegates are booked onto the same training course a 10% discount will be applied automatically. However if you are making three or more bookings over multiple courses please click here for a separate booking form.
Commercial rate
This applies to all commercial organisations including barristers and solicitors in private practice.
Standard rate
This applies to:
- housing associations and other RSLs;
- statutory organisations, including HM Prisons, academic institutions and health services;
- large charities.
Concessionary rate
This applies to:
- local authorities;
- small voluntary-sector projects/organisations;
- registered charities with fewer than 10 employed staff;
- CLS advice and law centres.
We are also able to offer a limited number of low-cost places to individuals who are students or unemployed, and organisations with very limited training budgets.

- Fees vary according to the course level and location, so please check the details of the course you are booking.
- Published fees are exclusive of VAT, which is charged at the standard rate of 17.5%.
