Family Law and Housing

This course considers a broad range of housing law issues that have a direct impact on families, including situations arising from relationship breakdown. Delegates will gain the ability to offer realistic and practical advice in this emotive and complex area of law.
Course includes
- Family intervention tenancies as introduced by the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008
- Shared residence and homelessness: where does the case law leave parents?
- The wide range of legal remedies available, covering:
- rights of spouses and partners
- domestic violence
- 16- and 17-year-old home leavers
- relationship status - Identifying what rights may be enforced and encouraged
- Family Law remedies, including those available to civil partners, Children Act provisions and the powers of the courts.

Housing advisers, homelessness workers, and anyone working in the private housing sector. Particularly suitable for those who regularly encounter families or clients experiencing relationship breakdown.
