An overview of the provisions contained in the Housing Act 2004, which replaced all previous provisions on conditions in HMOs. It will ensure that delegates understand the new definition of a 'house in multiple occupation' and the powers and duties of local authorities for dealing with HMOs and related matters. Participants will also explore good practice in local authority strategies to improve standards and protect tenants.
