POVA - Safeguarding Adults

This course will offer housing workers an overview of safeguarding adults and protection from abuse. Delegates will explore basic awareness, legal frameworks, government guidance and systems for safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality and how it fits with safeguarding. The course will also consider the future of protecting vulnerable adults.

  • Legal framework, guidance and government thinking on safeguarding including legal concepts of vulnerability
  • Employers responsibilities for safeguarding adults
  • The Mental Capacity Act and the impact of changes in social care
  • Basic awareness of protection from abuse
  • Data Protection, confidentiality and reporting safeguarding concerns.
