This course will offer delegates an overview on how to support black and minority ethnic clients who are experiencing domestic violence.
Course contains
- Forced marriage and honour-based abuse
- Specific barriers which BME clients experiencing domestic violence may face in relation to accessing support services and/or leaving abusive relationships
- Support options which may be available to clients with insecure immigration status
- Effective and appropriate interpretation for clients with language barriers
- Confidentiality factors
- Generic and specialist support services (local and national)
- Developing good practice
