Course contains
- Overview of the benefits system and what is available to 16- to 17-year-olds
- Examination of Income Support, including Jobseeker's Allowance (income based) and Employment and Support Allowance
- Housing Benefit, including who can claim, problem areas, discretionary housing payments and Disability Living Allowance
- Case studies

Anyone who works with young people and needs to give basic advice regarding entitlement to housing and welfare benefits
Note: Although entitlement whilst studying is discussed in relation to the common benefits set out above, the course does not cover benefits for students or young people in education in detail. It does not cover benefits for young asylum seekers or young people from abroad.
