Housing is central to what both Shelter and L&G do. L&G is aware for every person they help to buy or rent a property, that there is someone else living in fear of eviction or repossession, and many thousands more who have no permanent place to call home.
In July 2009 Shelter and Legal & General (L&G) started working together with an aim of raising awareness to L&G staff and partners of the devastating human impact of housing need, and to raise money to support Shelter’s work with homeless and badly housed people.
Supporting Shelter campaigns and services
Over the course of the partnership, L&G has given funding and volunteer support towards our Homestarter Service, our West Sussex Service and Court Helpdesk based in Worthing and Crawley, and supported our campaigns to build more homes and improve the private rented sector.
L&G employee fundraising
Shelter are the beneficiary for L&G’s Thames Walk challenge which has raised more than £10,000 since 2009.
