Good luck to our amazing Great North Run team! There’s still plenty of time to hit (or beat!) your fundraising target – download our fundraising guide for some extra help.

The BUPA Great North Run is one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar and the electric atmosphere makes it one of the best!

Registration has closed now for this race, but we've got places for lots of other races. See all races arrow

How we will support you:

  • Fundraising support, advice and tips to make meeting your target as easy as possible
  • A training guide
  • A fantastic adidas/Shelter running vest to show your colours on the day
  • A free cheerer's T-shirt for each of your supporters
  • A post- race reception where you can enjoy a much-needed massage and refreshments - relax with friends and family and celebrate your amazing achievement

How much do I need to raise?

You need to raise a minimum of £350 (which includes a £50 registration fee) for a guaranteed Shelter place. If you have your own place in the race, you can still join our team and raise as much as you like.

About the race

The Great North Run is the world’s most exciting half marathon. Shown live on BBC Television, the race sees 54,000 participants running the course from central Newcastle to South Shields, cheered on by thousands of supporters along the way. It’s a race that every runner should take on at least once!
