  • a training plan from a top running coach with personal email support
  • an adidas running vest
  • free cheerers’ t-shirts for all your supporters
  • fundraising advice and support to maximise your potential

How much do I need to raise?

Shelter had a limited number of guaranteed places. These are now filled, but you can still apply for the waiting list. If you get a place, all we ask in return for your entry is that you raise a minimum of £1600 in sponsorship.

If you have your own place in the race and wish to run for us, there is no minimum sponsorship.

About the race

The Flora London Marathon is the world's largest marathon. When Chris Brasher founded the race in 1981, nearly 7,000 people ran. More than 25 years later, millions of people have completed the 26.2-mile course.

People of all ages and abilities enter the Marathon, from Paula Radcliffe, who completed the race in 2 hours, 15 minutes, 25 seconds, to 92-year-old Fauja Singh, who finished in an astonishing 6 hours, 7 minutes, 13 seconds.

Our Flora London Marathon team is the biggest we put forward for any running event. In 2007, we were fortunate enough to have nearly 300 runners. See Why run for Shelter for inspiration to run with us.
