ING New York City Marathon 2009

New York is one of the biggest and most vibrant marathons in the world and you could be part of it!
Be one of the 38,000 runners tackling the famous course that takes you through all five boroughs of the world’s most cosmopolitan city. As part of our team, we will support you all the way to the finish line so apply today, we would love you to join us.
How we will support you:
- Training, health and nutritional tips plus a 23-week training programme.
- Fundraising support, advice and tips to make meeting your target as easy as possible.
- A fantastic Shelter running vest to wear on the day, making sure you'll stand out.
- A free Shelter t-shirt for each of your supporters, as a great souvenir of the day and to help you to spot each other in the crowd.
How much do I have to raise?
There is no minimum fundraising target, all we ask is that you raise as much as you can. However, if you do raise £1,500 or £2,000 by 9th January 2010 we will refund £500 or £800 respectively towards your costs.
About the race
The race takes you from Staten Island to the finish line in Central Park, over the impressive Verrazano-Narrow and Queensboro bridges and past the famous Empire State and Chrysler buildings. Two million cheering spectators line the route through Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx and will lift you through the final stretch in Manhattan. A once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!
