Your location: Expenses for our volunteers
All volunteers are paid 'out-of-pocket' travel and food expenses. We may also be able to contribute towards childcare expenses, subject to the discretion of centre managers.
Travel:
If you work for at least four hours on any given day, you can claim your return bus or second-class rail fare to travel to the shop, up to a maximum of £4.
Food:
You can claim back food expenses to a maximum of £4, if you work for four hours or more.
Childcare:
Shelter will cover childcare costs to a maximum of £3.50 per hour, subject to the manager's discretion.
