Shelter partners Wates have celebrated raising a brilliant £110,000 with five days of sports-related activities.

As part of Strip4Shelter, Shelter's footie-centric fundraiser, Wates’ Leeds office workers wore their favourite football strips to work, held Spot the Ball competitions and cycled 100 miles on an exercise bike.

In all Wates’ offices, employees enjoyed Shelter and Wates branded cupcakes, and offices were decked out with bunting, balloons and posters.

David Price from Wates Construction Leeds, said:

‘The week’s activities revolved around a World Cup theme. We even had a game suitable for the England goalkeeper - Spot the Ball!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the week, raising well-deserved funds for Shelter.’

Wates announced Shelter as its official charity in March 2009. Since then, employees have enthusiastically taken part in Shelter fundraising events, including Strip4Shelter, Vertical Rush and Let’s Get Quizzical.

Campbell Robb, Chief Executive of Shelter, said: ‘The partnership is a fantastic fit between our two organisations. The initiative and enthusiasm of Wates employees is second to none and it is a real testament to the company.’
