Best of luck to the Swim for Kids team, who are swimming across the English Channel to raise money for Shelter and Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

The team of five amateur swimmers - Rodney Askham, Megan Beacham, Alan and Paul Clark, and Lizzie Cresswell - are taking the plunge on
Saturday 7 July.

They have been preparing for the past 12 months, braving the freezing cold water for practice swims in lakes and rivers, including the Eton 10km.

The team have also been busy raising money – more than £8,000 so far - towards their £10,000 target. All the money they raise will be shared between Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Shelter, to help people in desperate housing need.

Rod said: ‘We’ve all been encouraged to keep doing what we’re doing to help support the amazing work they do for families and children at Shelter and Demelza House. Bring on the channel.’

Very best of luck and a huge thank you to Rod, Alan, Paul and Lizzie from everyone at Shelter!
