Donate goods to Shelter shops

Share

Squeezed for space? Running out of room? Time to clear out those old books, clothes and CDs cluttering up the place and put them to good use.

Shelter shops can turn your unwanted goods into help for homeless and badly housed people.

If you are organising a large collection of donations, for example in your workplace or university, we may be able to arrange for these to be collected: call us on 0344 515 1151 for more information.

Want to donate furniture or electrical goods?

Unfortunately Shelter shops don’t have the space for large pieces of furniture or white goods, and we can’t accept electrical items because they need safety testing.

Please contact the Furniture Re-use Network instead, who will make sure your goods go to a household in need. Call 0845 602 8003 or visit their website for details.

Donate your old car

Giveacar is a social enterprise where you can donate your old unused car, just as you might donate clothes or books, to Shelter. If you can help by giving your old unused car to Shelter, register your details on the site and Giveacar will collect the car and send the donation straight to us.

Visit the Giveacar website for more information and to register.
