Shelter training includes free courses for eligible organisations, and paid courses with a discount available for some organisations.
Free government funded training
Free training includes live webinars and elearning covering the fundamentals of housing and homelessness.
This training is fully funded by the UK Government's Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. These courses are available to eligible organisations only.

Check if you're eligible for free training
You are eligible for free training if you work for an organisation in England that provides:
housing or homelessness advice
debt and welfare benefits advice to improve someone's housing situation
This includes:
Citizens Advice
local authorities
voluntary organisations
public authorities, such as prisons, probation, job centres or health services

Who is not eligible for free training
We cannot provide free training to:
organisations based outside of England
organisations which charge users for advice or services
housing associations
community interest companies (CICs)
tenant management organisations (TMOs)
private companies

Discounts for paid courses
Paid training courses from Shelter are in depth, interactive and cater to all levels of housing knowledge, from introductory to advanced. Paid training is open to all organisations.
Check if you qualify for a discount
Discounted rates are available for each of our paid courses for individuals. The discounted rate is available to:
advice agencies
law centres
charities
If your organisation is eligible, the discounted rate will be automatically applied in the training portal.
