Donate your good quality, second-hand items to your local Shelter shop or post them to us for free.

We also offer a free furniture collection service at selected stores.

We’re always grateful for donated items, which we sell in our shops or online. Everything you donate contributes to our work to defend the right to a safe home.

Drop off your bags of clothes and other items at any Shelter charity shop during opening hours.

If you have lots of items or bulky items to donate, please phone the shop to check we have room for your donation.

  • small homeware (ornaments, kitchenware, glassware)

  • good quality ceramic tableware

At our Erdington, West Bromich, Preston and Sunderland stores we also accept:

  • good quality furniture

  • electrical items

Items we can't accept

  • broken or damaged goods

  • upholstered furniture without a fire label

  • baby equipment

  • used bedding or towels

  • underwear without its new tags

  • swimwear without its tags and hygiene strip

  • used cosmetics

  • weapons

  • food and drink
