'Stellar line-up' in Manchester

5 December 2007

The Charlatans, The Cribs and The Courteeners are just some of the bands playing at Xfm's Winter Wonderland at Manchester Apollo in aid of Shelter.

Tickets have been selling fast but a few are still available at www.xfmmanchester.co.uk or on 0871 22 22 977.

Xfm Winter Wonderland and Shelter have joined forces to highlight the plight of those who are homeless or badly housed this winter. Over 700 households in Manchester will be spending Christmas in temporary accommodation and the money raised by Winter Wonderland goes towards supporting them.

Xfm's managing director Nick Davidson described it as 'Xfm's flagship event', and promised there will be a 'stellar line-up'.

Tim Burgess of The Charlatans showed particular support for the event, saying: 'It's fantastic to be doing a gig for Shelter as it's a charity that's very near to our hearts'.

Adam Sampson, chief executive of Shelter, said: 'I'm not surprised tickets are selling so fast and those lucky enough to have got their hands on some are in for a brilliant evening, plus they can feel good that the money raised by the event is going to Shelter's vital work helping thousands of homeless and badly housed people every year.'
