Up My Street art exhibition opens

5 March 2012

Amelia's Magazine

This week sees the opening of the Up My Street art exhibition and auction at The Coningsby Gallery, London, in aid of Shelter.

The exhibition features artwork donated by artists and designers including Jake and Dinos Chapman, Eine, Antony Gormley, Patrick Hughes and Grayson Perry.

Each piece represents an aspect of a street the artist has an emotional connection to, such as their childhood home, favourite neighbour or the view from their bedroom window.

The exhibition runs from Monday 5 to Thursday 8 March 2012. Each item is also available to view and bid for online, with all proceeds going to Shelter’s work to support those who are homeless or in desperate housing need.

Up My Street follows on from Shelter’s widely acclaimed exhibitions, House of Cards and 52 Weeks.
