Soaring house prices are making it harder and harder for the next generation to get a stable home of their own.
Many parents can no longer afford to help their children out with a deposit.
And those who can have to dig into their savings and pension pots to do so – forking out on average £23,000. Yet politicians still refuse to act.
This can’t go on. It’s right that young people work hard and save up for their first home, but politicians should meet them halfway.
