Vertical Rush
Be part of a uniquely demanding and exciting experience for Shelter.
Take on the
adrenalin-pumping challenge of racing to the top of Tower 42,
the tallest building in the City of London.
The first event of its kind in Britain, Vertical Rush involves running or walking 183m (600ft) up 920 stairs and 42 floors to the top of the tower.
How to enter
You can take part as an individual or as a team of up to five people. If you’re entering as a team, the ‘team leader’ will need to register on behalf of all team members.
There are several time slots available throughout the day. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so don’t delay – sign up now.
Prize-giving reception
After all the strenuous hard work, you’ll be invited to a champagne reception at Gibson Hall - next door to Tower 42 – on the evening of Thursday 19 March.
Here you can celebrate your achievements, compare notes with other tower runners and find out that all-important finish time!
Prizes will be awarded at the reception. The race is chip-timed, which ensures accuracy.
All about the money
If you’re running alone you need to raise a minimum of £150. Teams are asked to raise a minimum of £750. There is also a registration fee of £35 per person. Your money will go to Shelter’s work with homeless and badly housed families across the UK.
In the current economic climate, demand on our services is greater than ever. Repossessions are on the rise, unemployment is increasing and many people are at risk of losing their home.
Shelter provides a vital safety net, preventing people from falling into homelessness by giving them the advice and support they need to manage their debts and fight to keep their homes.
Every penny helps, so please raise as much as you can!
