Get an overview of the new national standards for supported housing and how the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023 will affect providers, local authorities and residents.

Concerns about poor-quality supported housing led to the introduction of the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023. The Act creates a framework for new national standards that local authorities will be able to enforce.

The government responded to its initial consultation in April 2026 and is expected to consult on draft regulations and guidance later this year.

This session explains what we know so far and what to expect as the new regime develops.
