Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for our shop customers and donors

To support the nationwide effort to control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and protect our staff, volunteers, donors and customers, we have taken the decision to temporarily close all Shelter shops.

Our shop staff and volunteers work tirelessly to keep our shops open in communities across the country, and their safety is our biggest priority, so we have taken the difficult decision to close our shops for the foreseeable future.

However, we need your support more than ever to help defend the right to a safe home. Here are other ways you can help:

  • Donations – please don’t leave donations outside our shops whilst we are closed. Please keep them safe at home until we reopen, when we will be very grateful to receive them.
  • We are still open online. Please visit our online shop where we’re selling our range of emergency gifts, and our Depop page for great fashion finds.
  • Please consider supporting our emergency appeal to help us be there for those facing urgent housing issues because of coronavirus COVID-19. Donate here.

Thank you for your continued support, we reassure you that we will be back soon.

We have almost 100 Shelter shops on high streets across the UK, each one selling a fantastic variety of items to raise funds to help fight homelessness.

All our Shelter charity shops have a great range of second-hand clothing for men, women and children, including one-off vintage items, as well as books, CDs, DVDs and bric-a-brac. We also have a number of shops dedicated to selling quality second-hand furniture.

Got unwanted items? We accept donations of good quality goods and clothes to all our Shelter shops. And if you can spare some time we always welcome volunteers.
