Learn to recognise and support those experiencing poor mental health.

Course summary

This course includes four sessions covering common mental health conditions, practical support skills, and how to carry out the role of a mental health first aider.

You'll explore useful mental health models and action plans that explain how to listen, respond and support recovery.

When you complete this course, you'll be a qualified mental health first aider. Mental health first aiders receive three years certification and are invited to join the Association of Mental Health First Aiders. Find out more about Mental Health First Aid England.

What you'll learn

At the end of the course, you'll be able to :

Who is this training for

You don't need any prior experience in supporting someone with poor mental health.

You might work as an adviser, or for a local authority or social landlord.
