Managing shared ownership
The course covers how to manage shared ownership homes in line with the lease and the expectations of Homes England, the government funding authority.
This includes:
shared ownership rent and service charges
re-sales (assigning the lease)
staircasing (buying additional shares)
collecting outstanding rent and service charges and understanding repossessions
re-mortgages and further advances
dealing with alteration requests
the rules around subletting
dealing with neighbour disputes and anti-social behaviour
working with third party managing agents
The role of Homes England
The course also covers key information about the role of Homes England, including:
Homes England Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs)
the latest version of the Homes England model shared ownership lease and how it differs from previous shared ownership leases
how to adapt your services to shared owners to accommodate the requirements of the latest lease
the new Shared Ownership Code and how you can improve shared owner satisfaction
