  • abolition of assured shorthold tenancies and section 21 notices

  • grounds for possession and notice periods

  • new duties for landlords, civil penalties and criminal offences

  • local authority enforcement

  • changes affecting rent increases, deposits and rent in advance

  • anti-discrimination measures and the pets provision

  • the Private Rented Sector Database and landlord redress scheme

  • changes to homelessness legislation

  • housing conditions changes, including the Decent Homes Standard and hazards in private sector housing
