A corporate partner of Shelter
esure launched a three-year partnership with us in 2023 to raise £25,000 a year and has put in significant efforts since then to fundraise, helping to ensure that everyone can have access to a safe and secure place to call home.
For each year of our partnership, esure has joined us in a collaborative campaign during October as part of World Homeless Day where esure donate £2 for every home insurance policy taken out during the period. This has amounted to a total of £8,161 in donations so far.
Colleagues have got involved in fundraising too, raising thousands of pounds by taking part in multiple events including Run and Ride Reigate, the London Marathon and many more. Beyond fundraising, teams from esure have given their time to support a number of our retail outlets, helping with stock donations and making sales so that we can continue to support those facing homelessness.
In addition to fundraising, esure funded a data visualisation project that helped us strengthen and enforce the right to a safe home for all. With esure’s help, we created and launched an interactive map of homelessness across England. This map shows homelessness figures in different areas across England, highlighting the stark reality of the housing emergency we are facing.
The launch of this interactive map in December 2025 has been key for Shelter’s activity, helping us to understand, call out and challenge the systemic racism and discrimination at the heart of the housing emergency. We have been able to refocus efforts to call on the government to build thousands of social rent homes and in the meantime, unfreeze local housing allowance (LHA) so that those who are living in temporary accommodation can afford a safe and decent private rent home, something to which everyone has the right.
