Pay and benefits at Shelter

As well as competitive basic pay, we offer employees a range of benefits – from generous annual leave and pension entitlements, to discounts at more than 2,000 different retailers.

Pay

We offer all employees a competitive basic salary. For employees based in and around London, we also pay a regional allowance.

We are accredited as a Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. It is is calculated according to the basic cost of living using the 'Minimum Income Standard' for the UK. Decisions about what to include in this standard are set by the public; it is a social consensus about what people need to make ends meet. For more information on the Living Wage and being a Living Wage employer, please visit the Living Wage Foundation website.

Our employees receive up to 30 days' annual leave, and eight bank holidays per annum (pro-rata for part-time staff and those joining part-way through the year).
