Shelter NPPF Consultation Response

By: Rose Grayston  Published: June 2018

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) sits at the heart of planning policy in England, and has a huge role to play in ensuring that we get the genuinely affordable homes we need built. Shelter has responded to the consultation picking up in particular on some key issues where the detail of the draft may undermine positive intention.

Summary

In March 2018 the Government published a new draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) for consultation. This document is the centre of planning policy across England and provides a clear opportunity to ensure the planning system is working to deliver more of the homes this country needs.

Shelter responded to this consultation, raising points related to both the NPPF and the associated National Planning Policy Guidance. In our response we have only addressed relevant questions, however, a full list of questions and copies of the NPPF and NPPG drafts can be found on the consultation website.
