This briefing summarises Shelter's position on the following aspects of Government's reform agenda for housing benefit:
local housing allowances (LHAs)
extending LHAs to the social sector
removing the option for tenants renting privately to have their benefit paid direct to their landlord
The briefing also considers:
the benefits of introducing a housing tax credit
issues concerning the payment of housing benefit to those living in TA.
