    What this event covers

    This event will cover:

    • an overview of immigration status and how it affects housing eligibility

    • guidance on eligibility concessions including domestic abuse victims and the Windrush scheme

    • information to help navigate language barriers, digital access issues and systemic challenges

    • guidance on when the Children Act might apply

    It includes a dedicated session from St Mungo’s on how to support people with immigration needs who are rough sleeping.

    What you'll learn

    You'll learn how to identify and apply relevant immigration legislation to practical scenarios, and improve your ability to support migrant clients.

    By the end of this event, you will be able to:

    • identify how immigration status effects eligibility for housing support

    • explain how relevant legal duties apply in practice

    • evaluate how to use concessions and legal frameworks to support clients

    • confidently advise clients in complex eligibility situations
