What this course covers

Face to face and webinar training includes:

  • possession claims for rented property under CPR 55 Part I

  • accelerated Procedure under CPR 55 Part II for assured shorthold tenants

  • adjournments, directions, allocation, and costs

  • how to file a defence or make an application using Form N244

  • what to do in court and the range of orders the Court can make

  • enforcement of possession warrants and warrant suspension applications

  • setting aside possession orders and executed warrants

This course does not cover mortgage cases. This is covered in Defending Mortgage Possession Proceedings.

You'll be sent pre-course reading two weeks before the course.

What you'll learn

At the end of this training, you'll be able to:

  • identify detailed procedural rules governing possession proceedings under the CPR

  • understand what the claimant needs to prove and defences that can be raised

  • identify when applications can be made to suspend warrants and set aside possession orders

You'll already have a good understanding of notice rules, grounds for possession and security of tenure for this course.
