What this course covers

Face to face and webinar training includes:

  • different mental health problems and common signs and symptoms

  • examples of feelings or behaviours an individual suffering with a mental health problem may experience

  • how trauma and secondary trauma can develop or exacerbate mental health problems if untreated

  • the ‘Recovery Model’ and ‘Mental Health Star’ to aid in supporting individuals

  • how Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help individuals

What you'll learn

At the end of this training, you'll be able to:

  • recognise signs and symptoms associated with different mental health conditions

  • recognise how trauma and secondary trauma can be a risk for staff supporting people in difficult circumstances

  • identify sources of support and signpost or refer a person to the right service for the best response
