Fair Housing Futures Tenants’ Voices Programme

We are committed to ensuring that tenants’ voice is at the centre of the work we do and have developed a diverse programme of activity to engage tenants.

Our Tenants’ Voices Programme enables tenants to help shape Fair Housing Futures.

How we have involved tenants:

  • Via focus groups and interviews. We’re working to engage tenants across Greater Manchester in opportunities to shape the policy and practice in the private rented sector. We also spoke with tenants to help build an evidenced understanding of private renting. The findings from the research were key in the development of the four priorities for the Test and Learn Grant Fund.

  • By developing online communities. In April 2020 we held an online community to gather insight into the challenges that renters faced at the start of the pandemic. The feedback was used to submit a response to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's inquiry into the impact of Covid-19 on private renters.

  • Through Legislative Theatre. Legislative theatre is an opportunity for tenants, advocates and policy makers to share stories and collaborate on developing theatre to influence and change political systems. Watch our legislative theatre piece ‘Hold On, Please!'.
