Start the New Year with a challenge and join our Shiver for Shelter cold water dip. Get sponsored and raise at least £50 to help fight the housing emergency.
Plunging into cold water in January isn't easy! It takes courage, resilience and real purpose. That's what makes Shiver for Shelter such a powerful and inspiring challenge.
It's your chance to experience the benefits of cold water dipping in a safe, supportive community and for a great cause. Cold water immersion is known to:
boost mood and energy
reduce stress and anxiety
improve circulation and resilience
Once you brave the cold, you'll feel invigorated and accomplished. Be part of something special and join the fight for housing justice this winter.
Your ticket includes:
a guided cold-water dip (not a swim)
support from trained lake staff and volunteers
Shelter-branded swim hat to keep for future dips or swims
a hot drink and a bun to warm up afterwards
the chance to connect, reset and make a real difference

What to bring:
swimwear
towel
waterproof footwear (crocs, sliders or flip-flops)
warm layers
your brave spirit!
Be part of the fight for home this winter

When you sign up for the Shiver for Shelter challenge, you pledge to raise at least £50 from sponsorship. Together, we can defend the right to a safe, warm home for everyone this winter.
For example, £50 could:
fund two webchats for people facing homelessness so they know their rights
pay for an emergency call with a Shelter adviser
enable a legal adviser to complete an application for legal aid funding
