- Registration fee: £50
- Fundraising pledge: £250
- Ticket price: book a whole board (6 people): £250

Join others in a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to paddleboard down the River Derwent in the Peak District. Enjoy being part of this amazing community experience while also raising vital funds to help Shelter tackle the housing emergency.
Heading through the white-water rapids on a mega stand up paddleboard, you will pass through:
Matlock
Lovers’ Walks park
Derwent Gardens
Willersley Castle
You will then end in the picturesque village of Cromford.
Our expert guides will be on hand throughout the morning to provide guidance, safety and reassurance. This means that the event is suitable for seasoned fans of water sports, as well as those who have never ventured out on a paddleboard before.
When you take on this challenge with Shelter, you get:
an expert guide who will teach you more about paddleboarding, how to navigate the white water, and how to stay upright (most of the time!)
dedicated support with fundraising and additional guidance before the event
Fundraising for Shelter

By signing up, you commit to raising at least £250 to help fight the devastating impact of the housing emergency. Please make sure you're confident in reaching this fundraising pledge.
We recommend you start by setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving and asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you. You can also organise an event such as a bake sale or quiz. See our fundraising resources for more inspiration.
Our friendly team are on hand to support you with your fundraising. If you have a question or want to discuss ideas, email community@shelter.org.uk
How your fundraising helps
When you fundraise for Shelter, you're standing with people who face homelessness or unsafe housing.
Our experts provide advice and support through our emergency helpline, webchat service and face-to-face in local hubs.
Every pound you raise will help defend the right to a safe home.
£23 could fund a webchat, providing essential housing advice
£58 could answer two calls to our emergency helpline
£157 could pay for legal advice to help a family in crisis keep their home
